RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA — Movement Mortgage, a national top 10 mortgage lender, bolstered the ranks of its leadership with the creation of a new position dedicated to developing and improving relationships with new construction builders across the United States.

Movement Promotes Terry Barrett to Lead National Builder Division

Terry Barrett, who joined Movement in 2021 as Regional Builder Manager, stepped into a newly created position as Director – National Builder Division. In this role, Barrett will manage national builder relationships, develop new partnerships and help strengthen our position as a recommended lender option among the builder community and the homebuyers working with them.

Barrett joined Movement in July 2021 after nearly 35 years of experience in the industry, most recently as a Regional Builder Sales Manager with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, where he worked for over two decades.

"There has never been a better time than now to elevate Terry into this role to provide best-in-class service to our existing builder relationships as well as attract and support new builders," said Mike Brennan, Movement Mortgage President. "New home construction will be a major focus for the organization to meet the demands of the market where inventory is still low. We are committed to serving our builder relationships and sales team with Terry at the helm!"

Movement's Builder Division has rapidly expanded across the U.S. as home builders have benefitted from Movement's builder-centric lending process. With the current housing situation putting pressure on builders nationwide, well-handled loan processes and approvals are crucial to a builder's bottom line. By providing an outstanding buyer experience — utilizing underwriters and processors who understand the builder-specific timelines and requirements of new construction — Movement aims to eliminate concerns that homebuyer loan approvals will get in the way of growth and achievements.

"I am so excited to lead Movement's builder division across all 50 states," said Barrett. "We are in a season of unprecedented growth as a company, and there is no limit to what we can accomplish!"

A native of Yorktown, Virginia, Barrett holds an undergraduate degree from James Madison University and an MBA from the University of Richmond. He resides in Raleigh, NC, with his wife, Kristin, and daughters Piper, Sophie and Alexandra. When he gets a spare moment, he enjoys his hobbies, including guitars, music, cars and golf.
