Movement Mortgage, a national top 10 retail mortgage lender, is excited to welcome Jimmy Richards and his team back to the Virginia Beach market.

Richards began his career as an underwriter at Movement Mortgage before transitioning to Sales. His decade of experience on both sides of the mortgage industry makes him an incredibly skilled and valuable asset.

"Being trained as an underwriter and being able to see a loan from that perspective is invaluable as a loan originator," says Richards. "Making the transition in 2017 from Operations to Sales was a natural evolution."

Over the past two years, Richards has helped nearly 200 families achieve homeownership for $45 million in production. Richards says he wanted to come back to Movement because of the genuine, caring culture and the dedicated work ethic.

"A year and a half ago I decided to move my book of business to a broker shop, working wholesale. I had NO experience outside of Movement," says Richards. "What I discovered was that no one can underwrite, process and close a loan like Movement Mortgage."

The Richards Team will serve the Virginia Beach market under the leadership of Regional Director, Clay Duncan.

"Jimmy is a fantastic loan officer," says Duncan. "He started his career at Movement in underwriting and knows our process well. We are excited to welcome him home as part of our Virginia Beach team."

When not working on loans, Richards (NMLS #1206689) enjoys spending time with his wife at local restaurants, watching The Office, playing with their pets and visiting the beach with their family. Passionate about music, Richards is a member of a local band with another loan originator, real estate agent and real estate lawyer.
