Movement expands in Ohio with return of Brian Sumption
Movement Mortgage, a national top 10 retail mortgage lender, is excited to announce the return of 17-year mortgage veteran, Brian Sumption.
In his 17 years in the financial industry, Sumption has touched all facets of the housing world. From a loan officer in the broker space before the crash in 2008, to short-sale negotiator, to operations as an underwriter, Sumption brings a vast skill set and wide-reaching experience to his role with Movement. He took over a role as a Sales Manager in 2013, bringing that leadership ability with him to Movement originally in 2015.
“The best award is actually the reward of helping and watching loan officers grow their business, going from small volume to doubling it the next year. As a leader, it is my goal and my responsibility to help make everyone on my team grow into the best version of themselves,” says Sumption.
Sumption previously worked for Movement from 2015-2018. He says after some time away, he realized what Movement offers cannot be matched.
“I came back to Movement for many reasons,” says Sumption, “but when a company's priorities of God, Family, Community, and Business align with yours, it's a no-brainer. I discovered what my purpose was while I was gone, and to have the ability to come back to lead, help grow and support local communities, is too important of an opportunity to pass up. We all serve a purpose in life, and God's purpose for me was to be with the company that has done an amazing job setting the standard. I am thrilled to be back where I belong.”
Sumption (NMLS #771346) will serve the Columbus, Ohio market and report to Regional Director Chris Shelton. “We are very excited to welcome Brian back to the Movement Mortgage family,” says Shelton. “Brian's resume and leadership are second to none, and will provide us the stability and strength we need in the Midwest for the growth trajectory we are currently on in the Ohio region.”
Sumption has been married to his beautiful wife Kate for 15 years, and they have two amazing children together, Jakob and Stella. Family is very important to Sumption, and in his off time he coaches Jakob's travel baseball team and Stella's travel basketball team. When Brian is not coaching, he enjoys fishing, playing golf and traveling with his family.
