Movement team members helped put meals in front of more than 61,000 people nationwide this November.

That's because team members donated 21,880 pounds of nonperishable items (that's more than 10 tons) to four nonprofit organizations in its annual food drive.

The drive also resulted in a $10,940 matching donation from the Movement Foundation split between those same organizations that provide food for those in need in their communities.

"If you have ever been in a position where you have needed help with food you know that the impact a food bank can make is much bigger then the bag of physical food," says Danae Diller with the Movement Foundation. "It provides a little relief from the financial pressure on families. It can also bring an important sense of hope and love to know that others out there care enough to donate their time and resources so that their family can have food."

The organizations getting the donations and cash are: Loaves and Fishes in Charlotte, N.C., Wave City Care in Virginia Beach, Va., Safe Harbor Shelter in Richmond, Va., and Phoenix Rescue Mission in Phoenix, Ariz.

“We are so grateful for companies like Movement Mortgage who partner with us,” says Tina Postel, executive director of Loaves and Fishes. “Your generosity will go to feed so many that need it during this time of year at one of our emergency food banks.”

The donations from Movement's 4,500 employees nationwide were collected at the company's four operations campuses.

Team members turned their donations into creative displays as part of a competition in three of the Operations campuses.

Movement teams created a football stadium and Christmas town, a salute to "Star Wars" and a Rubik's Cube at the National Sales Support Center. In Norfolk, team members brought Bob the Builder to life and a Movement-themed man cave. In Richmond, teammates constructed castles and pie.

In Tempe, rather than building can creations, team members sorted and filled boxes of complete Thanksgiving meals.

"I am once again blown away by the generosity and creativity of Movement team members," Diller says. "Knowing the number of meals these donations will provide and that this impact can spread far and wide makes me very proud of the Movement employees, who are always so generous with their time, talents and money to serve their communities."
